2003-06-16 - 12:30 a.m. I just read this entry in Toejam's diary, and I was blown away by the clarity of the insight. I guess it just happened to strike a chord with me. Plus, on the next entry after that one, there is a great story of an obnoxious parent getting her due. Gotta love it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Anyone in a warmer part of the country will think I'm insane, but I'm getting ready to plant a little vegetable garden, as soon as the rain lets up. Yeah, I could have planted 2 or 3 weeks ago, but not much more, and it has been almost nothing but rain since then. We just have a really short growing season here, also known as bug season. We're in Zone 3. Sort of approaching the arctic or something. I'm using a method called "Lasagna Gardening" (loosely, of course, when did I ever follow anything to the letter?) that I discovered while at the Bangor Garden Show. I bought the book and have my layered patch of ground almost ready to plunk a few seedlings into. 2 varieties of tomatoes, a few cucumbers, sweet peppers, and lettuce. I'm all a-quiver.
