Summer's about over and I haven't updated since June. Because I lead such a fast-paced and exciting life that I just don't have time, y'know. Heh.

I just love this entry from Ladee Leroy, it is so sweet: Sidney.

What's new in the Lasagna Garden? Well, I have some really big, rangy tomato plants. Have picked exactly 2 ripe ones, very small. They were Early Girl variety; I don't know how big they are supposed to be, but these 2 were about the size of a ping pong ball. There are tons more in various stages of growth. Fortunately, some of them look as if they will be a little more normal sized. None of the other variety (Rutgers) have ripened, and the plants themselves are not as huge, but there are still lots of potential tomatoes there.

My 4 cucumber plants have dwindled to 2. One is truly prolific -- I'm picking about one a week, which is nice; I'd hate for them to ripen all at once. The other plant is a little stunted, but starting to produce too. I love the fact that they just keep churning out new baby cukes. Good little workers.

Green peppers are looking fairly healthy, but they'll be a while. Cute little buggers, though. The lettuce, on the other hand, was a big bust. It was supposed to be head lettuce, but I picked a lot of the lower leaves. They were very bitter. So I tried leaving it to form heads. Started bolting. I ended up cutting their little non-heads off, using what I could salvage, and giving up on lettuce. Next year: leaf lettuce, definitely.

Speaking of big busts (wasn't I?), I am an official Bazonga Booster!! Wonderful Marn is running 5K on October 5th, raising money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run For The Cure, better known as Jogging for Jugs, and every donation earns you the right to display the fab Bazonga Booster button. Here's mine:

Other stuff: I've added a banner for one of my favorite sites below. It's for MySurvey.com, also known as NFO World Group. It's a consumer survey site; I've been a member for over 2 years. For filling out online surveys, you earn points toward your choice of rewards: raffle tickets of prizes, cash, charitable donations, and merchandise. Once in a while you qualify for an in-home product test. I did a test of Swiffers last year. Received 2 different Swiffer mops with lots of refills, tried them out and filled out questionnaires about them. It's a lot of fun. If you want to sign up, just click the button down there with the freaky little ant on it (and I get some points too, if you do that -- so thanks!)
