Well, Happy New Year! We really made it through the year intact. I hardly thought that was possible.
A year ago, we were vacationing in sunny Florida, about to find out that DH would not have a place of work to go back to after vacation. That building a new house was not happening, what with 9 months of unemployment; that most of our friends would not be hanging around the area; that no matter how much you patch this roof, it still leaks.
Now, with a steady income, things are more or less back to "normal" although I must say the social life has suffered a death blow. It takes pre-planning and a lot of driving (or flying!) to visit with friends. But DH's family is still around, so we see them perhaps more than we used to. And life goes on.
Hug all your dogs and never take them for granite
Because dogs should not be granite. They should be fur.
