2005-01-14 - 8:29 a.m. In unrelated news, Dumb Cat (as opposed to the other one, Smart Cat) was stuck in the mudroom for several hours last night. After I let her into the kitchen, I discovered that she had executed a mouse. It was a quick professional job; no blood. I may have to rethink the dumb part. Or is it smarter to eat the prey, like Smart Cat does? It's certainly neater not to. Smart Cat, of course, prefers to dine al fresco anyway. Is anyone else p-o'ed that the 2nd term of the Shrub is concentrating on this social security revision crap, when everyone says it's both unnecessary and unwise? They are "trying" to drum up support on Wall Street -- the only people who would actually benefit from privatizing -- isn't that sort of like soliciting your campaign funds from your employees? Or your mommy? Here's what arrived in my inbox this morning: Quote: I find it very mysterious. 2004-12-10 - 11:44 p.m. According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll, most Americans do not want religious leaders to influence their politicians.
Should Church Leaders Try to Influence Politicians? Even among conservatives, opinion is evenly split on the issue: 49% think they should and 49% think they shouldn't. Among those polled, a majority of Catholics and Protestants, both Evangelical and non, were against church influence on politicians. Check it out. Why do we now have a president who is so out of step with the people of his own country? If we don't have the will to keep religion out of government, which religion are you willing to be converted to?
